    Adams County Motor Vehicles offers an innovative back-office processing of services that offers the citizens the ability to take care of a number of vehicle licensing transactions right over the phone, simply call 720.523.6010. 

    The next time you are planning to visit our office for any of the following items, you can simply call us instead. 

    If you are unable to utilize this option, try your transaction online at myDMV.colorado.gov.

    New Plate and Registration

    Welcome to New Plate with Registration option. 

    Step One: Decide if this is option is right for your transaction. 
    • Must be listed as an owner of a purchased or financed vehicle
    • Must have title in name or received Title Complete Notice
    • Need to purchase a new set of license plates
    Note: If you wish to transfer credit from a previous registration that has not expired but would like new plates this can only be completed by phone. 
     
    Step Two: What do you need?
    • VIN or Title number
    • Proof of Insurance 
    • Proof of Emissions Test, if required. Click here to see the requirements.
    • License plate number from previous registration (if applicable to receive credit)
    • Credit Card or Checking account information. (There is a $1 convenience fee to pay using a check or e-check or a transaction fee of $0.75, plus a 2.25% service charge, is applied to all credit card transactions. This service charge is passed on to our card merchant.)
    Step Three: Make the call or Complete Online
    Once you have all documents in hand call 720.523.6010 to speak to one of our clerks.

    • Must have existing license plates that will be transferred to a new or used vehicle.

    • Your vehicle registration needs to be renewed

    Temporary Permit

    Welcome to the Temporary Permit option.  
     
    Step One: Decide if this is option is right for your transaction.  
    • If a Colorado- issued temporary permit is about to expire 
    • Must be listed as an owner of the vehicle 
    Step Two: What do you need? 
    • The full VIN number of the vehicle needing the temporary permit 
    • A photo of your ID or a Completed Secure and Verifiable Identification  
    • Proof of Insurance 
    • Credit Card or Checking account information. (There is a $1 convenience fee to pay using a check or e-check or a transaction fee of $0.75, plus a 2.25% service charge, is applied to all credit card transactions. This service charge is passed on to our card merchant.) 
      • The fee for a temporary permit is $7.08

    Set up an Escrow Account

    Welcome to the Setting up an Escrow Account option. 
     
    Step One: Decide if this is option is right for your transaction. 
    • Must be a representative of the business making the request
    • Allows users to “drop” business transactions/title work
    • Decreases transaction time
    • No more rejections for the incorrect amount on pre-written checks
    • Easy auditing and verification within your finance department- account holders can request balance and transaction history at any time
    • No fees to open, fund, or maintain and no balance requirements
    • Funds can be added in person, over the phone, or via mail
    Step Two: What do you need?
    • Business name
    • Address
    • Fleet number, if applicable
    • Contact information for account holder/manager
    • Deposits can be made with a Credit Card or Checking account information. (There is a $1 convenience fee to pay using a check or e-check or a transaction fee of $0.75, plus a 2.25% service charge, is applied to all credit card transactions. This service charge is passed on to our card merchant.)
