Mission Statement

To responsibly serve the Adams County community with integrity and innovation.

Vision

Adams County is the most innovative and inclusive county in America for all families and businesses.

Purpose

The Adams County Workforce and Business Center exists as the source of security to passionately serve our community in becoming the best version of themselves.

The Adams County Workforce Development Board (ACWDB) is comprised of dedicated community leaders who focus on advancing workforce development. The ACWBD is comprised of representatives from private industry, nonprofits, and public agencies. Federal legislation mandates the ACWDB to oversee public investments in employment and training programs, a responsibility that is accomplished through the operations of the Adams County Workforce and Business Center.

On May 9th the Adams County Workforce Development Board held their board meeting followed by a tour of the DEN3 Amazon Fulfillment Center located on 144th Avenue and Grant Street in Thornton. This three-story facility is 2.4 million square feet in size and employs 3,000 associates. It is the largest Amazon fulfillment center in the Northwest region of the United States. Board members were able to observe the numerous robots utilized to assist Amazon employees to maximize efficiency. Amazon is the largest employer in Adams County and offers various benefits to their associates such as health insurance, retirement, flexible schedule opportunities, and the Career Choice program which provides tuition assistance for continuing education in the field of their choice. The Workforce Development Board is exploring workforce development opportunities to collaborate with Amazon to fill their open positions and contribute to the growth of the Adams County economy. 

High Performing Board Presentation
On November 11, 2023, Commissioner Lynn Baca joined the Adams County Workforce Development Board (ACWDB) to be recognized as a High Performing Board for the fifth straight year by the Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC).  Local Workforce Development Boards in Colorado are recognized as high performing by the CWDC when they achieve a series of key performance indicators and the ACWDB achieved the highest score available.  The ACWDB is comprised of diverse and knowledgeable community members who actively participate in board meetings and activities supporting the local workforce system.  They serve as liaisons between the community and the local workforce center, and actively work to accomplishes goals and strategic priorities through data driven, business-led meetings. This recognition is well deserved!

Board Meetings
